In this study published in Nature, some women were given doses of the hormone (while others got a placebo) and then made to play a competitive/cooperative game with another person. Those who thought they were given testosterone behaved more aggressively and less fairly than those who thought they got the placebo (regardless of whether they actually did get the hormone), and those who did get testosterone were less aggressive and more fair than those who didn't. I wonder if this will change the stereotypes?
